Class One
Reception and Year One
Our Class One Teacher is called Miss Lillie
Class One is a fun and exciting place to learn and play. Our Classroom is very bright and colourful with lots of our fantastic work displayed on the walls. We have many different areas in our classroom including computers, a creative area, a pirate ship for role play, writing tables, a small world mat, sand and water, dressing up, a quiet area with a settee and a painting easel.

Outdoor Learning
We also have an area that makes our classroom extra special... a door leading directly outside to our amazing, unique outdoor learning area!

We would say that this is our favourite part of the classroom and we go out there every day. In the outdoor area, you will find lots of amazing things to see and do, including:
- a den covered in bright colours where we can let our imagination run wild
- a tree trunk leading to a monkey rope where we can climb, crawl, balance and swing
- a water feature with water flowing like a waterfall where we can play with boats and ducks
- a compost digging area where we can imagine we are planting and growing
- a gravel area hiding dinosaur fossils
- a pulley system where we can transports toys across to our friends
- bright coloured shelters that reflect beautiful patterns on our safety surface
- Pots and pans to make our own music and sound patterns.
Class One Outings
In Class One we like to go on trips to visit new places and learn about different people and cultures. We have been on trips to Newcastle, visiting a Synagogue and the Great North Museum, Alnwick Play House, Stead Lane First School in Bedlington where we made lots of new friends, and every year we go to Glendale Countryside Day to find out more about living and working in the countryside.
We also like to make the most of the beautiful, coastal area where we live and we are in short walking distance to the beach and play park. We do lots of work with the National Trust who teach us all about our surroundings and how to look after the wildlife.

The Wedding
As part of our religious education topic we planned a Class One wedding in our local Church with a Reception held back at school. We spent a lot of time planning the wedding, sending out invitations and making decorations. Our Vicar replicated a real service for us and we even had a wedding car to take us to and from the Church. Everyone had a great day, including staff, parents, governors and friends of the school.
