Class One is an exciting place to learn. We have a bright, colourful classroom with lots of opportunities to learn in different ways.
We have fun outside in our very own outdoor area. The children can explore the natural environment through first hand experiences and learn to appreciate the world around them. We also have lots of equipment designed for the children to work together and learn in a practical way.
The children are given responsibilities in school but are supervised. Some of these responsibilities include caring for the class goldfish; Silver and Nemo, and growing their own vegetables in large tyres on the school playing field.

A walk around Embleton
Class one braved the cold weather on Monday 25th January with a walk around Embleton village.
This was the launch of our new topic, Location, Location, Location. We had digital cameras and clipboards at the ready to capture our favourite places in Embleton. We looked at different types of houses, shops and services available to villagers and tourists.
Our last stop was the park, of course! This was a fun end to our village exploration.
Making Ramps!
Reception had great fun making ramps for cars out of wood and play bricks in the outside learning area.
The Christening
This week the children at Embleton First School held a christening for the new class one doll, Jack, at the village church. The children had a wonderful day taking the ‘baby’ to be christened by the new vicar Philip Harratt and continued celebrations back at school by eating cakes they had baked and playing party games.
