Embleton Vincent Edwards Church of England First School was founded in 1688 and is one of the oldest schools in the county. It was founded by the vicar of Embleton, the Reverend Vincent Edwards, to educate the children of the Parish.
The present building dates from 1897 and became a First School in 1981 when the three tier system was established in North Northumberland. The school has been updated over the years and provides a pleasant working environment.
