We are a small, friendly, family orientated school with close links to our local community. Our small class size of approximately twelve children ensures that our pupils are taught as individuals as well as enabling us to provide appropriate support to help them learn.
Vincent Edwards Church of England First School is situated in the beautiful Northumberland costal village of Embleton. It has a long tradition of providing education for the children of the area, having been founded in 1688 by Reverend Vincent Edwards, fellow of Merton College and vicar of the parish. The school therefore has a sense of history and tradition and has close links with Holy Trinity Church in Embleton.
At Vincent Edwards we fully endorse the view that "every child matters" and our school seeks to ensure that its provision fully supports this philosophy.
We have recently entered into a Partnership with the Middle School our pupils feed into and we now share a Headteacher. This partnership has enabled us to develop opportunities for pupils and staff from both schools to work together and learn from each other. Resources such as a mini bus can be shared as can staff expertise.
